What is the state of play of European SMEs concerning Smart Industry? Which staff skills and competences are required in order to meet the challenges of Smart Industry? In which areas do the SMEs need support from research and higher education institutions in becoming “smart”?

All these questions are reflected in the report “Learning and Business Consultant Needs of Europe’s SMEs in Smart Engineering”. The report is based on the results of the empirical research, which has been conducted in 7 European countries. 257 European SMEs filled in the online-questionnaire, and approx. 40 manufacturing companies have been interviewed by SMeART partners.
