The SMeART project partner KU Leuven and the associated partner Yncréa-ISEN were part of the delegation visiting the 2018 MEDFIT conference. The visit was part of the EDUCAT project but also delivered a great inside for SMeART.
The MedFIT is one of the leading European partnering event, connecting industry players to source early-stage assets. It facilitates the emergence of collaborative projects between big players, public research institutions, start-ups and SMEs, to increase licensing opportunities, to obtain funding and to facilitate market access.
KU Leuven and Yncréa-ISEN took the chance to present the project EDUCAT in general and technology under development by the project. Mobile HMI (Human Machine Interface) and data collection using wireless technologies and a cloud-based database are part of the development, aiming at better support for powered wheelchair users and developers.
“The development in the medical sector can be a great inspiration for technologies that SMEs can apply in their roadmap towards smart factories”, said Philippe Saey Engineer at the KU Leuven and member of the SMeART team.
