FVEM actively promotes Basque Digital Innovation Hub

27.07.2018

Basque Digital Innovation Hub (BDIH) is a regional strategy recently launched by Basque Country 4.0 for the implementation of Smart Industry in the Basque Country. It is led by the public administration. The SMeART partner Federación Vizcaína de Empresas del Metal (FVEM), due to its close links to engineering companies in the region, is a relevant intermediator helping to reach and attract SMEs to join the hub. The BDIH aims to provide industrial enterprises, especially SMEs, with the technological capabilities needed to meet the challenges of industry 4.0. It consists of a digitally-linked network of Research and Development infrastructures, pilot plants, and specialized know-how in different areas of advanced manufacturing. The network will be used for the development of R&D projects, scaling of industrial projects, exhibition of cutting-edge technologies and also as a resource for training, testing, and acceleration of start-ups. The god news also is: the BDIH is going to test and evaluate SMeART tools, which could be then successfully used by the network members.

Thus, it is about a direct SMEs’ digitization in the Basque Country towards more knowledge-intensive and high-value manufacturing activities!
